Combining multiple shows into a single "Network Feed" or "Omnibus" is one of the most popular uses for Podcast Composer.
Step 1: Add All Your Sources
- Open your project.
- Navigate to Sources.
- Add the RSS URLs for every show you want to include in the combined feed.
- Ensure each source completes its initial sync.
Step 2: Configure the Master Output
- Navigate to Outputs.
- Create or edit the output feed that will serve as your combined "Master" feed.
- Use a clear title (e.g., "The Daily Network") and upload attractive artwork that represents the whole collection.
Step 3: Mix and Match Episodes
- Go to the Library view.
- You can filter the library by Source to see episodes from one show at a time.
- Select the episodes you want to feature in the new combined feed and click Add to Output.
- You can mix episodes from different shows in any order—for example, a "Monday Show," then a "Tuesday Show," then a "Bonus Mid-week Interview" from a third source.
Step 4: Sorting Strategy
In the Output Settings, you can choose how episodes are sorted:
- Newest First: Standard for most podcasts.
- Oldest First: Great for "Anthology" or "Binge" feeds.
- Custom Order: Use the manual drag-and-drop sort to create a highly curated listening experience.
[!TIP]
Using Overrides for Consistency: When combining feeds, the original authors might have different formatting styles. Use the Override feature to standardize episode titles (e.g., "Show Name | Episode Title") so your combined feed looks professional.
