Selfhost Podcasting > All Episodes lists episodes across every podcast and every supported episode storage type.

What appears here

The screen includes:

  • Plugin-created episodes from sh_podcasting_epi.
  • Migrated source episodes that remain as normal WordPress post records.
  • Episodes attached to one or more podcasts.

Create or import from All Episodes

Use the Add New Episode bar:

  1. Choose the target podcast.
  2. Click Create New Episode or Import Episodes.
  3. Continue in that podcast's Manage Episodes workflow.

The global screen does not create unattached episodes.

Search, filter, and sort

The list supports:

  • Search by episode text.
  • Podcast filter.
  • Status views: All, Published, Draft, Scheduled, Not feed-ready.
  • Sorting by title and date.
  • Pagination.
  • Per-page screen options.

Columns

Common columns include:

  • Title.
  • Podcast.
  • Type: Episode or Post.
  • Duration.
  • Feed Ready.
  • Date.

Podcast-scoped episode lists hide the podcast column because the podcast is already known.

Row actions

  • Edit for Feed: opens the Selfhost episode metadata editor.
  • Edit for Website: opens the WordPress editor when the post type supports it.
  • View or Preview: opens the public or preview post URL when available.
  • Trash: moves the episode to trash.

Bulk actions

Bulk actions include:

  • Detach: removes the podcast attachment.
  • Move to Trash.

In global context, detach only works when the episode is attached to exactly one podcast. Multi-podcast rows must be detached from the specific podcast context.

Orphan repair

If old data contains episodes with no podcast attachment, All Episodes shows a warning and a repair flow to attach an orphaned episode to a podcast. Unattached episodes never reach a feed.
