Podcast Information controls the show-level metadata in your RSS feed. This information applies to the whole podcast, not just one episode.
Find these settings in Selfhost Podcasting > Manage Podcasts > open a podcast > Podcast Information.
Required Fields
Podcast Name
The title of your show. This appears in podcast apps and directories.
Example:
The Weekly FounderPodcast Description
A clear description of what the show is about. Podcast directories display this when listeners view your show.
Write for listeners, not search engines. Explain the topic, audience, and publishing style.
Podcast Cover Art
Your main show artwork.
Use:
- Square image.
- 1400 x 1400 pixels minimum.
- 3000 x 3000 pixels maximum.
- JPG or PNG.
- Clear text that remains readable at small sizes.
Podcast Website
The public website for your podcast. This can be your homepage, a dedicated podcast page, or a show archive.
Language
The main language of the podcast. The plugin provides a language list using podcast-friendly language codes such as en-us, en-gb, es-mx, and others.
Apple Podcasts Categories
Choose the category or categories that best describe your show. Categories are included in the RSS feed as itunes:category tags.
Pick the most accurate category. Directory discovery depends on this.
Podcast Author
The person, brand, or organization that creates the podcast.

Podcast Type
Options:
- Episodic: each episode stands on its own. Most interview, news, and discussion shows use this.
- Serial: episodes are meant to be heard in order, often by season.
Copyright
The copyright notice for the show.
Example:

Used by directories such as Apple Podcasts for ownership and contact information. This is not meant to be your public listener support address.
Funding URL and Funding Label
Adds a Podcasting 2.0 funding tag to the feed.
Example:

Management Fields
Explicit
Mark the show explicit if the overall podcast contains explicit language or adult themes.
Episode-level explicit settings are also available for individual episodes.
Remove Podcast From Apple Podcasts
Adds the itunes:block tag. Use this only when you intentionally want Apple Podcasts not to show the podcast.
Podcast Completed
Marks the podcast as complete. Use this for finished limited series or shows that will not publish new episodes.
Podcast Locked
Adds the Podcast Index podcast:locked tag. This helps prevent unauthorized feed imports or ownership claims. The plugin enables this by default.
iTunes New Feed URL
Use this only when moving an existing podcast to a new feed URL. It tells Apple Podcasts where the new feed lives.
Do not use this for normal editing.
Apple Podcasts Verification Token
Use this field when Apple gives you a verification token. The plugin outputs it as a podcast:txt tag with the Apple verification purpose.
Before Saving
Check that:
- The website URL starts with
https://orhttp://. - Cover art is square.
- Description is not empty.
- At least one Apple Podcasts category is selected.
- Author and language are correct.
