Podcast Transcript Support

We are thrilled to announce a brand-new feature for the Podcast Player plugin! Our player now supports the podcast:transcript tags, which means you can display episode transcripts directly within the podcast player.

What does this mean for you? If your podcast feed includes podcast:transcript tags, your listeners can enjoy the convenience of reading your podcast transcripts alongside the audio playback. This feature enhances accessibility and provides an enriched experience for your audience.

The player currently supports podcast transcripts files in srt and vtt formats.

How to enable this feature Follow these steps to activate transcripts in the Podcast Player:

  1. Update Your Plugins: Ensure you’re using the latest versions of both Podcast Player and Podcast Player Pro.
  2. Check Your Podcast Feed: Verify that your podcast feed includes the podcast:transcript tags. If not, contact your podcast hosting provider to add support for these tags.
  3. Enable the Setting:
    • Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
    • Navigate to Podcast Player > Settings.
    • Locate and enable the option: “Allow Podcast Player to display episode transcripts.”
    • Click “Save Options”.

Once enabled, transcripts should display alongside your episodes.

Important Notes This feature is currently in the experimental stage. We’re eager to hear your thoughts and address any issues you might encounter. If you face challenges or have suggestions for improvement, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Your feedback is invaluable as we refine and enhance this feature.
